MOST FEMALES (nowadays) EXPECT YOU to function in that old-fashioned, out-dated behavior during a time when the female WAS NOT ALLOWED to WORK and EARN an income.

[THEY HAVE JUST AS MANY JOB OPPORTUNITIES AND SUPPORT THAN YOU]

Females nowadays work and earn a living yet THEY EXPECT YOU to still SUPPORT THEM financially IF you have ANY INTEREST in spending time with them while THEY SAVE or SPEND their money on themselves.

[DON'T BELIEVE THE BULLSHIT]

They are NOT spending THEIR MONEY to look good for you.  

They are spending their money LOOKING GOOD for themselves and INCREASE the opportunities and offers from OTHER MALES in the event YOU DON'T ACT RIGHT (i.e., GIVE them what they want).

IF a female is CAPABLE of providing for herself yet SHE EXPECTS you to do so then she is INCONSIDERATE of you, thinks VERY LITTLE of you and SHOULD BE AVOIDED.

[FINANCE AND EMOTION SHOULD NOT CO-EXIST]

If you are going to ALLOW a WORKING female to be INCONSIDERATE, IRRESPONSIBLE and FINANCIALLY support her, I would SUGGEST you PLACE NO EMOTIONAL ATTACHMENT to her because SHE WILL NOT BE a FAIR PARTNER and FINANCIAL SUPPORTER of a relationship.
